Mobile measuring arms

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Contactless measuring and scanning

Faro presents mobile measuring arms for quality assurance. The Quantum 8-axis system combines the portable Quantum Faro arm and the ScanArm with a functionally integrated but physically separate eighth axis.

The rotary axis can be connected to the FaroArm and thus becomes an accurate additional axis. The system is suitable for tactile and non-contact measuring and scanning applications such as part inspection, alignment, CAD-based inspection, scanning of prototype parts and reverse engineering.

Faro will also be presenting the VantageS6 and VantageE6 laser trackers. They offer a wireless, hand-held 6-degree-of-freedom (6 DoF) probe. The optional 6Probe can be integrated into both laser trackers. This allows users to easily measure hidden areas that are not in the direct line of sight of the laser tracker.
