Agile interaction

Quality management you can touch

The Guardus control agenda includes a CAQ function network for agile interaction between quality and production that extends across the entire production process: from automated first piece inspections and dynamic process releases to just-in-time inspections for material registrations and real-time checks in the event of machine malfunctions or last part inspections.

The new functions for acoustic, visual and mobile data collection are also a tribute to agility. First and foremost is the option to record comments and findings via voice recognition in Guardus MES. Visitors to the trade fair will also be able to experience a variety of new business apps - such as the QR scanner work process or the PDA group terminal. There will also be software minis for evaluating and displaying online information and for mobile action management.

The flexible interaction of the production situation and process assurance is the basis of every future-oriented production sphere. The aim is no longer to plan deterministically in advance, but to define control and execution flexibly through the process. This is where the agile CAQ function network from Guardus MES comes in by networking, monitoring and analyzing all relevant information relating to people, machines, products and tools in real time.

In various scenarios, visitors to Control will experience how they can give "their" quality management agility: When an order is dispatched, Guardus MES automatically informs the quality manager and requests a process release. During production, the system knows the progress and quality of the process at all times and issues a dynamic request for inspection. Deviations in the test results, machine malfunctions or tool breakage have an immediate impact on the physical process - for example, locking a system until it is released again. If an order is split or a machine is changed, the MES requests the corresponding inspections.

"Unfortunately, the rule in many places is that an ERP starts the order and informs the CAQ and PDC about it, but the two specialist applications do not talk to each other. This creates a huge data black box that makes agility impossible," says Simone Cronjäger, CEO of Guardus.

The current development of the new QMS standard IATF 16949 also shows that this situation is not sustainable. This requires agility in the production process based on smoothly interacting CAQ, BDE and MDE disciplines. For example, the table of contents contains production topics that were not even rudimentarily included in the previous version - including the procedure for process releases, validation after production shutdowns or production planning and maintenance. In addition, there is the monitoring and measurement of production processes - also production management disciplines.

Rethinking data entry

According to the company, Guardus MES is already highly adaptable when it comes to visual data collection using image-based fault detection and mobile input via tablet and checklist function. Acoustic data acquisition is now on the trade fair agenda. MES users are able to interact with the system via voice, for example in the areas of complaint processing and fault diagnosis.

Mobileplace now manages over six apps for mobile data acquisition, analysis and monitoring. Two further MES helpers are celebrating their premiere at Control. With the aim of individual product labeling, the "QR Scanner operation" displays the production data of a component on which a corresponding QR code has been engraved. This means that information can either be attached directly to the product in a space-saving and sustainable manner and conveniently read out or further central product information can be retrieved via the MES database using the app. Another new feature is the "PDA group terminal" app. This provides a transparent overview of the current production orders at the production units. In addition, the individual systems can be moved or positioned variably on the screen. as
