Omron control sensors
New IoT sensors monitor flow and pressure
The new E8FC flow sensors and E8PC pressure sensors from Omron herald a new generation of solutions for controlling industrial processes in which various liquids and gases are used.
Based on a unique technology, the new Omron sensors monitor the main parameters of flow or pressure in parallel. In addition, they enable temperature control and issue warnings in the form of color signals or parameter displays on a black and white display in the event of process deviations. The sensors transmit information about the monitored system at high speed via the IO-Link standard COM3 and simultaneously record data and parameters for self-diagnosis.
The E8FC/E8PC sensors are a further building block in the realization of the concept of vertical integration, in which process data can be transferred from the lowest level of the automation pyramid to the very top and parameters from the top to each sensor, the company announced.
E8FC sensors can be used in the automotive industry to prevent sudden production stops and defects in casting and welding machines caused by faults in the coolant system. E8PC sensors, meanwhile, can be used to prevent defects in pressing machines, as well as in CNC and other modern processing platforms, by measuring the pressing pressure with high precision.
In addition to the automotive sector, other industries can also benefit from this technology. Any area in which a single manufacturing error can lead to major damage in the production process or in the end product is an option. Sensors from the E8FC/E8PC series can detect such faults in advance and warn the user. as
