New records at Endress+Hauser

2018 was a good year for Endress+Hauser. The Group, a provider of process and laboratory measurement technology, automation solutions and services, reported new highs in turnover, profit and employment.

According to the preliminary business figures, Endress+Hauser increased its turnover by more than nine percent to over 2.4 billion euros in 2018. Exchange rate effects prevented even better results. "In local currencies, we grew by almost 13 percent," said Chief Financial Officer Dr. Luc Schultheiss. The family-owned company created new jobs primarily in production, research and development and service. At the end of the year, Endress+Hauser had 13,928 employees worldwide, 629 more than in 2017.

Growth was spurred on by innovations in all areas of work: "We supported our customers with more than 50 new products, solutions and services. In doing so, we were able to set the tone both along our digitalization strategy and in the measurement and analysis of quality parameters," said CEO Matthias Altendorf.

For 2019, Endress+Hauser anticipates somewhat weaker market momentum. The Group anticipates sales growth in the mid-single-digit percentage range and aims to maintain profitability at a good level. If business develops positively, several hundred new jobs will be created worldwide. Endress+Hauser will present its audited business figures for 2018 on May 14, 2019 in Basel. as
