Measuring system based on AICON scanning technology
New 3D measuring cell with fringe light projection
Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence launches the PartInspect L solution worldwide, the first automated 3D measuring cell based on AICON scanning technology.
It combines a selection of different stripe light projection technologies with a flexible robotic arm in a modular cell: State-of-the-art automation technology is used to meet the growing demand for ultra-fast, high-quality component measurement and analysis.
The solution has an interactive automatic scan planning function as well as systems for robot path generation and collision avoidance based on CAD data. All of these features combine to provide a truly automated 3D measurement process - from planning and scanning to analysis and reporting.
"This new measurement cell format makes the high-speed measurement capabilities of our AICON scanner technology even more efficient and easy to use," explains Dr. Dirk Rieke-Zapp, Commercial Product Manager for AICON Scanners and Automation at Hexagon. "With PartInspect L, high-speed quality checks can be carried out directly in production without the need for extensive training measures for all users on the shop floor. This ensures significant increases in productivity."
Pre-assembled and configured at the factory, PartInspect L offers "plug & play" functionality. The cell is installed in less than two working days - without any engineering work on site. It delivers comprehensive and fast 3D inspection results for components up to 1.5 meters in diameter or height and weighing up to 2000 kilograms. PartInspect L can be used outside the factory environment as well as close to production and even directly on the production line.
The system is available in two configurations, "Efficient" and "HiEnd", which are equipped with different options from the AICON scanner range. The "Efficient" configuration uses the entry-level AICON PrimeScan scanner, while the "HiEnd" variant is equipped with the top-of-the-range AICON StereoScan neo scanner. For even greater measurement accuracy and improved control, both configurations can be supplemented with the DPA Online Photogrammetry option.
PartInspect L is now available worldwide from local Hexagon representatives. The first devices will be delivered in May 2019.
