Miniature acceleration sensors

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Structural tests on printed circuit boards

The Z22198 family consists of very small triaxial accelerometers from Kistler that measure vibrations in three orthogonal axes.

These triaxial miniature IEPE accelerometers are designed for structural testing, for example on satellites, printed circuit boards and components with limited installation space. The integrated PiezoStar sensor element enables a very low thermal sensitivity change. This sensor element is combined with low-noise electronics to enable a wide frequency range.

The acceleration sensor is internally ground-isolated for low noise behavior even with strong electromagnetic interference. The welded titanium housing is robust and lightweight, and the integral cable combines robustness with easy handling, even for demanding installations.
