Minimizes image errors

Computar has developed the MPW2-R lens series, a ruggedized version of its MPW2 series for five megapixel machine vision sensors. The new ruggedized lens series is available through Framos and is suitable for industrial applications in demanding environments where stable optics under the influence of vibrations, shocks and temperature changes are crucial.

The compact design with fixed apertures and fixed focal lengths is intended to enable uncomplicated integration in robotics and industry. The aim is to minimize image errors caused by vibrations and shocks, such as on robot arms and vibrating machines. The MPW2-R series from Computar has a redundant focus lock for this purpose: the focus can be adjusted using a double nut mechanism consisting of lock nuts and locking screws. All elements are glued and fixed inside the lens housing to ensure reliable stability with shocks of up to 10G. as
