Space-saving and precise navigation
With the PicoScan150-LOC, Sick presents its first localization system in this compact design for mobile robots in logistics and production environments.
It combines industry-proven localization software, which uses the contours of the environment to determine location and navigation, with a space-saving and robust 2D lidar sensor. This has a high measurement accuracy and range. As a plug-and-play module, the PicoScan150-LOC enables space- and weight-saving integration. Edge computing on the device minimizes latency times, which enables robust and precise localization. All variants feature reflector detection, which can be used by the integrated software to stabilize localization in environments with few static contours. In addition, there is a simple on-board navigation solution through line sensor emulation.
This means that no additional control unit is required, resulting in cost and space savings in every vehicle. The PicoScan150-LOC system solution, which is available in three performance levels, is of interest to intralogistics integrators and manufacturers of AGVs, AMRs, automated forklift trucks, order picking vehicles and mobile platforms for various applications.
