Flow sensor

Mara Hofacker,

Laminar flow meter with digital output

The EE660 from E+E Elektronik is a flow transducer for particularly low air velocities. It is suitable for laminar flow monitoring and other special ventilation applications, for example in clean rooms.

The measuring transducer is now also available with an RS485 interface. It enables precise measurement of the air velocity from as little as 0.15 m/s. The E+E thin-film sensor used in the transmitter is based on the hot-film anemometer principle and offers high long-term stability and a short response time. The sensor is also resistant to contamination and has a low angle dependency.

As an alternative to the current and voltage outputs, the measuring transducer now also has an RS485 interface with Modbus RTU or BACnet MS/TP protocol. This makes it particularly easy to integrate into a bus system. The E+E product is available as a channel version or with a remote sensor. The housing with external mounting holes allows the measuring device to be mounted when closed.

The measuring transducer has an optional display. The backlight and the 180° rotatable display ensure good readability in any installation situation. The EE660 can be configured via jumpers on the circuit board or using software. Adjustment can be carried out using an optional adapter and the free EE-PCS configuration software. It can also be used to adjust the display settings.
