60 years Kübler
Growth expected for 2021
The Kübler Group, manufacturer and specialist of encoders, sensors and slip rings, made a successful start to its 60th anniversary year and recorded a strong first quarter.
According to the management team Lothar and Gebhard Kübler and Martin Huth, the figures were on target until the end of Q1, but then came corona. A significant decline in incoming orders was already noticeable in April, even though production was still running at full capacity for a long time thanks to the high order intake in the first quarter. This order backlog lasted until mid-June. Since then, the company has introduced short-time working and made further savings.
Since the end of August, there has been a slight increase in incoming orders. At the moment, the company can only plan for the future and currently expects a decline in turnover of between 5% and 8% at the end of the year compared to 2019 thanks to the good first quarter. In China, business has clearly been picking up again for some time now. According to Kübler, exports still account for around 72%.
The company is planning for growth again in 2021. However, whether the 2019 level will be reached remains to be seen at the moment, says Gebhard Kübler. A large number of OEM projects, good opportunities with the new products and a motivated sales team make him slightly confident, but the impact of a second wave is unclear.
