The Linux-based, freely programmable maxx GW4102 industrial gateway for top-hat rail mounting relies on maximum wireless availability through communication via mobile radio in the LTE 4G network and network redundancy via two SIM cards. Thanks to the "always-online" functionality, the gateway automatically establishes a connection and, in the event of a fault, automatically re-establishes the connection. This ensures unrestricted access to the maintenance-free device at any time and from any location.

Interface diversity and PLC expansion

The programmable sensor gateway processes applications in different programming languages and enables the use of predefined and individually tailored functions as well as customer-specific applications. The Industrial IoT gateway provides various physical interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-485, CAN bus and 1-Wire. They are used to connect end devices with communication interfaces and sensors. The PLC extension adds additional isolated digital signal inputs and outputs.

Flexible cabling thanks to cascading

The cabling of the 16 digital, isolated inputs is significantly simplified by the grouping of the inputs and the assignment of the connectors. By cascading the digital input blocks, for example, 16 inputs of one control system or eight inputs of two control systems can be connected - all with only one negative pole per control system. Digital control outputs can also be connected directly, significantly reducing the amount of cabling required.
