Motor feedback systems

Andreas Mühlbauer,

High-resolution and robust

Due to the increasing level of automation and increasingly dynamic systems and machines, servomotors are playing an ever more important role. Due to their high performance and compactness, they are predestined to meet the requirements for higher dynamics, greater efficiency, lower energy costs and space savings.

Kübler has developed a new motor feedback system. With a constant size of 36 mm, all singleturn and multiturn variants with a resolution of up to 2048 sine/cosine periods or 24 bits are realized fully digitally. This enables servo motor manufacturers to reduce the number of motor variants and standardize the mounting between the encoder and motor. RS485, SinCos and BiSS are available as interfaces. A certified SIL2/PLd variant is also available.

The phased array sensor technology results in a high signal quality, which increases the performance of the servo motor and leads to quiet operating behavior and thus to a reduction in heat. The Sendix S36 motor feedback system is extremely robust thanks to its mechanical gear technology, robust bearing design, torsionally rigid stator coupling and reliable connector technology. This means that the motor feedback system can be used in all environments and ensures flawless continuous operation of the servomotor.
