Endress+Hauser continues to grow

A new production and office building with over 17,000 square meters of floor space and a multi-storey parking lot were built over a construction period of almost two years. This is the company's response to its strong growth in level and pressure measurement technology.

With around 2,000 employees, Maulburg is one of the largest sites in the Endress+Hauser Group. "With the new buildings, we are doing justice to the growth of recent years," said Dr. Peter Selders, Managing Director of Endress+Hauser Level+Pressure in Maulburg, on the occasion of the inauguration. Adapted space conditions and a modern infrastructure help to meet high standards of quality and efficiency.

Sustainable building technology

The new building, completed in 2020, comprises 17,000 square meters of floor space on several floors, 11,000 of which are for production. Great importance was attached to energy efficiency during construction. A photovoltaic system on the roof contributes to this, as does a combined heat and power plant that supplies electricity and heat. Measurement technology from Endress+Hauser monitors the energy flows. In addition, a multi-storey parking lot with 700 parking spaces and an area of almost 16,800 square meters was built on the site in Maulburg.

Highly accurate calibration

The basement of the new building houses measuring sections that are used to precisely calibrate level measuring devices with radar technology. These are used in large tanks and silos, among other things. At 50 meters each, the measuring sections are the longest and most precise of their kind in the world. Customers are very interested in the subject of calibration, as even small deviations in the measured value can lead to major uncertainties when recording stock levels.

Together with guests from politics, business and employees, the new buildings were unveiled in a small ceremony on Friday, October 8, 2021. The production rooms had already been occupied after completion at the beginning of 2020. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the presentation of the new buildings only took place now. "We moved a lot of things into virtual space last year - but we wanted to celebrate the inauguration here with the people in our new building, albeit in a small circle due to the coronavirus restrictions," emphasized Dr. Peter Selders.

As a symbol of good cooperation, Matthias Altendorf unveiled the mural "Global Player" by German artist Britta Schmidhauser, which consists of several colored rectangles made of fused glass, as a gift for the site. "If one rectangle were missing, the picture would not be complete," said the CEO of the Endress+Hauser Group as he handed over the artwork. "This idea is very transferable to the various Endress+Hauser locations around the world and also applies to all employees."
