Body temperature screening

Corona: Infection prevention via infrared scan

With the ICS body temperature screening system, ICS has developed a stationary and mobile solution for the automated measurement of human body temperature by infrared scan.

Hygiene and access solutions and associated documentation are currently necessary in many companies and public buildings in order to protect the health of employees and customers and to comply with the recently adopted easing of restrictions by the federal and state governments during the coronavirus pandemic. For employers, such systems are fundamental to the resumption of business operations. Here, the supply chain digitizer ICS offers a tried-and-tested complete solution with its body temperature screening system.

The ICS system offers a measurement accuracy of around 0.2 degrees Celsius with a measurement duration of two tenths of a second. Possible febrile illnesses can be reliably detected and follow-up measures can be taken in terms of occupational health and safety. Measurement results are signaled visually and / or acoustically. Access systems (such as turnstiles and automatic door openers) can be controlled as an option. Multi-stage access processes can also be mapped. If proof is required, the measurements can be displayed completely anonymously in a statistics web backend.

The individual, fast and non-contact measurement of the respective temperature from a distance of around 0.5 meters takes place automatically - without the need for additional personnel. The proactive occupational safety implemented in this way ensures business operations and supports quality assurance, for example in manufacturing companies.

"Our system configuration complies with the applicable data protection regulations and no personal data is stored. The optional web backend is only available for anonymized statistical evaluations with which users comply with the documentation obligation. This means that we also take the views of works councils or data protection officers fully into account," reports Oliver Moser, Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at ICS.

The mobile application can be used at any location with a WLAN or WAN connection at any time. It is used to measure the temperature of people from any location or for self-monitoring by drivers and service providers working on site. © ICS

The ICS system is used across all sectors, for example at employee entrances to production plants, workshops and warehouses, at entrances to hotels, restaurants, inns, clinics, doctors' surgeries and care facilities, as well as at entrances to educational institutions, sports facilities, retail outlets, public administrations and office buildings.

Stationary or mobile application
Stationary use is via a compact panel PC and is supplied with an optional stand and practical hygiene article holders. A handy business MDE ensures mobile use. Both devices work with Android and are designed for industrial use thanks to protection classes IP55 and IP65/67. In addition to infrared scanning, the computers integrate optional features or peripheral devices such as ID card readers, IC card readers and 2D/barcode scanners.

ICS installs the solution in various rollout packages tailored to customer requirements. "For less than 200 euros per month, companies receive a highly available system solution including service desk, remote management, mobile device management and other full-service components," explains José da Silva, Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of ICS. as
