The advancing level of automation in the process industry is increasing the desire for solutions to use sensor technology in potentially explosive areas. Pepperl+Fuchs is now increasingly offering its customers engineered solutions with sensor technology from factory automation for Zone 1 and 21. The applications for this are diverse. Starting with the monitoring of warehouses and rooms through to applications in areas where personal and environmental protection is the primary concern, automation in explosion protection is advancing. Sensor technology from Pepperl+Fuchs, packaged in a pressure-resistant housing, makes it possible to further automate processes even under harsh conditions. The latest pilot project, for example, is the use of the R2000 optoelectronic scanner in Zone 1 for the safe filling of chemical substances into tank wagons.

The "GR" GRP enclosure series is perfectly adapted to the needs of electrical installations in process plants. The design concept is designed for maximum flexibility for a wide range of applications. Many small details facilitate planning for individual customer requirements. An ingenious mounting grid not only makes the additional mounting plate obsolete, it also enables connection terminals and switching elements to be planned and installed quickly and easily. This means that a wide variety of top-hat rails can also be mounted using self-tapping screws. An innovative spacer system allows components to be used at different heights within an enclosure. Different enclosure sizes and depths ensure the unlimited flexibility of the enclosure series with IP66 foamed silicone seal. The enclosure series can be used in environments down to -60 degrees Celsius in zones 1, 21 and for zones 2 and 22.
