Smart Process Gating

Safety for the smart factory

Leuze has made new versions of its RSL 400 safety laser scanner available. It combines safety technology with measured value output for automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in one compact device, thus enabling safeguarding and navigation.

The speed of an AGV is safely reduced by monitoring several protective fields in parallel. These functions are also available as a device variant with a Profinet/Profisafe interface, which is particularly easy to integrate into industrial networks. They are also available in AIDA-compliant versions for use in automotive engineering. Leuze is also working on its Smart Process Gating (SPG) safety solution: the technology for access guarding on conveyor lines does not require signaling sensors and offers an alternative to the widely used muting process. SPG is integrated into the MLC 530 safety light curtains. dsc
