Display - Tolerance sleeves as connection:
Small parts - big effect
As a manufacturer, quality supplier and technology partner, Dr. TRETTER will be presenting a comprehensive range of machine elements at the HMI in Hanover. These include tolerance sleeves.
These non-positive connecting elements are slotted sheet metal sleeves with beads that are embossed like wave crests. The standard material is stainless spring band steel, which can withstand temperatures of up to 250 degrees Celsius. Special versions can even be used at temperatures of up to 450 degrees Celsius or in aggressive chemical environments.
The tolerance sleeve sits in the gap between the bearing bore and the shaft. The shaft crests, which are distributed over the entire circumference of the tolerance sleeve and act like many small compression springs, ensure a tight fit. The shaft crests are elastically deformed by a certain oversize of the tolerance sleeve. This creates a frictional connection between the bearing and shaft. The components can, for example, compensate for center misalignments, prevent vibrations or temperature expansions. They are used, for example, in flywheels or gear wheels in drive technology as well as in pumps and motors for the bearing seat, to compensate for center misalignment or different temperature expansions, as well as for fastening pump wheels, pulleys, fan wheels and rotary encoders. In various electric motors, a tolerance sleeve is also used to fasten the stator in the housing. In a very special application, a manufacturer of fall protection systems for industrial climbers or roofers has even installed tolerance sleeves as shock absorbers: In the event of a fall, they significantly weaken the shock to the body. The experts on the stand will explain in detail exactly how this works.
Visitors to the trade fair in Hanover will be able to find out about other solutions from Dr. TRETTER's extensive range. These include ball transfer units, miniature guides, track roller guides with measuring system and ball screw drives.
