Sustainable CWS workwear
Wood fibers against heat
A new multi-norm or multifunctional garment uses flame-retardant high-performance fibers, which are mainly obtained from beech wood from sustainable forestry.
The new Profi Line Protection collection from CWS has been designed for employees in the metal industry, the chemical industry, the energy sector and for transporting hazardous goods. It offers five different protective functions and is very skin-friendly. With the all-round service, the company also offers washing and maintenance of the protective clothing.
The CWS Profi Line Protection has a high level of thermal heat protection that prevents burns. Even in hot working environments, the wearer's body temperature rises less quickly. The clothing thus counteracts fatigue and the increasing risk of accidents.
The fabric composition offers reliable protection against strong electric arcs up to 4 kA and does not allow the fabric to melt when exposed to heat and flames. The clothing also withstands liquid metal splashes, welding beads, electrostatic charge, acids, bases, solvents and oils. The blended fabric offers certified class 1 welding protection, heat and flame protection, class 1 arc fault protection and chemical protection.
Safe maintenance and care
"Professional care of clothing is particularly important for PPE, as incorrect handling can impair the safety functions," says Conny Pieters, International Product Manager at CWS. Like all CWS collections, the Profi Line Protection is also available as a flexible all-round service. The clothing is hygienically washed and safely maintained over the long term. If necessary, the company repairs the textiles professionally, replaces them if they are worn out or if they need to be resized. The service provider also takes care of transportation to and from the industrial company. On request, CWS can also affix employee names and company logos to the workwear.
The natural beech cellulose fibers used in the Profi Line Protection are very breathable and therefore comfortable to wear. They wick away water vapor better than cotton or synthetic fibers. The high proportion of high-performance fibers from the Lenzing brand makes the PPE flame-retardant. This makes the protective clothing both robust and skin-friendly. Like all CWS collections, the Profi Line Protection is also certified to the Oeko-Tex 100 standard. All components of the clothing are harmless to humans. At around 250 g/m², the multifunctional clothing is also lightweight. The soft, supple fabric also contributes to comfort. "With Profi Line Protection, we show that PPE can also be sustainable. It is important to us to work with renewable raw materials or recyclable materials wherever possible. We pursue this approach in our product development in the long term," explains Pieters.
Quality with style
The multifunctional clothing is also visually impressive. Thanks to specially dyed aramid, it remains color-fast and brilliant for a long time. It is lightfast, UV-stable and available in fashionable black/dark gray and blue/dark blue. The collection includes a work jacket with stand-up collar, work coat, waistband trousers and dungarees. The modern cut and functional design give the collection a modern look. Numerous pocket solutions for work utensils and knee pad pockets make everyday working life easier.
