The lenses are designed for use with large sensors with a high pixel density. According to Polytec, the patent-pending optical design offers a 400 to 600 percent larger field of view compared to other current zoom systems. In addition, its numerical aperture enables a 25 to 80 percent increase in contrast in detail resolution. Numerous adapter options enable the use of various sensors from 1/2 inch to APS (32 mm) and beyond.

Key features of the Resolv4K also include high-contrast imaging for up to 12 megapixel sensors of all formats, axial color correction in the visible range, high performance in broadband applications with Vis-NIR and SWIR options, faster image capture of a larger area without loss of detail and improved illumination from center to edge, even with large image fields. The lens module is available in manual or motorized versions, with or without coaxial illumination and offers a wide range of lens adapters and accessories.
