The world's highest-resolution and most precise area-based 3D camera is based on Photoneo's patented Parallel Structured Light technology, which is implemented by a proprietary CMOS image sensor. For the first time, the technology enables the user to capture moving objects at a maximum speed of 40 meters per second with high image accuracy. Thanks to more efficient depth coding technology with true pixel measurement, the camera achieves 10 times higher resolution and accuracy than competing technologies, according to the company.

The start-up Photoneo was founded in 2013 with the idea of revolutionizing 3D vision technology. Within just a few years, the visionary founders have written a success story: the initial team of four has developed into a company with almost 80 employees and a broad network of distributors and certified integrators worldwide. Today, the product portfolio includes high-quality hardware such as the PhoXi 3D scanner family, the PhoXi 3D camera and the Phollower 100 autonomous mobile robot, as well as various software applications for bin picking.

The Vision Award jury based its decision to name Photoneo the winner of the award on the high technological standards and excellent level of innovation of the submission, which demonstrated a completely new approach to the 3D capture of moving objects. In her laudatory speech at the award ceremony, Gabriele Jansen, Managing Director of M&A consultancy Vision Ventures and member of the Vision Award jury, also emphasized the high relevance of the PhoXi 3D camera for image processing: "The market potential for 3D applications in image processing is huge. A whole portfolio of different 3D technologies is available to tackle the wide range of tasks. However, there is one technology that has been sorely lacking until now: the area-based capture of large working areas with high accuracy in motion. Photoneo has now closed the gap and is presenting the market with the PhoXi 3D Camera, a unique product to date."
