The group of companies launched a new concept for condition monitoring, i.e. the real-time description of the condition of machines. The 17th presentation of the award took place virtually this year due to the coronavirus.

The prestigious award recognizes the most innovative, influential and successful solutions for the label and packaging printing industry over the last twelve months.

Lenze's concept for smart condition monitoring won over the jury of industry experts. The judges described the innovation as a relevant step into the future that has the potential to change the way machines are built and maintained.

Monitoring without additional sensors

In this innovative approach, the data available in a servo drive is used to obtain comprehensive information about the "health status" of machines and systems - without additional cost-driving sensors. With its comprehensive automation portfolio of hardware, software, network and cloud applications and the resulting expertise, Lenze also offers extensive support in interpreting the data. Analyses based on machine learning (ML) and AI help to detect anomalies more quickly.

The Label Industry Global Awards were established in 2004 to recognize innovation and excellence in label and packaging printing. The awards ceremony takes place every year, alternating between Labelexpo Europe (Brussels) and Labelexpo Americas (Chicago).
