Stainless steel for plastic molds

Deutsche Edelstahlwerke will be exhibiting together with Schmolz + Bickenbach at the Moulding Expo.

Almost every plastic product has its origins in a mold or tool made of stainless steel. © German stainless steel works

In Hall 7, DEW will be showcasing all-stainless materials for plastic molds, for example for plastic bottles, car seats or syringes. The portfolio includes the materials Formadur 2083 Superclean, Formadur PH X Superclean and Corroplast. All three steels are corrosion-resistant, hard and easy to machine. Formadur 2083 Superclean is characterized by high wear resistance and polishability. The properties of Formadur PH X Superclean include strength and toughness combined with good polishability. Corroplast is characterized by a good balance between good machinability and a consistently good corrosion behavior.
