Oerlikon Balzers introduces its new Balora coating portfolio, which offers improvements for applications in high-temperature environments.
The Balora PVD MCrAlY coating is the latest generation of high-density MCrAlY coatings utilizing PVD-Arc surface and equipment technologies from Oerlikon Balzers. PVD-Arc technology provides an excellent barrier against oxidation and corrosion in the hot section of turbines.
Coated components in the hot section of turbines must withstand extreme conditions to prevent hot corrosion and oxidation. Typically, MCrAlY coatings based on thermal spraying and other technologies are used for these applications. Oerlikon Balzers has further developed these standard processes for MCrAlY coatings with high-end PVD-Arc technology. This allows an even more efficient production process and improved coating properties to be achieved.
