Stainless steel composite filament
Durable material for prototypes
BASF Ultrafuse 316L stainless steel filament has been qualified for the MakerBot Labs Experimental Extruder for the MakerBot Method 3D printers.
Thanks to its open material platform and growing range of technically demanding materials, Method can print polymers, composites and metal filaments.
Ultrafuse 316L combines the strength, stiffness and durability needed for various applications, such as functional prototypes and tooling for manufacturing. Available for use with the Labs Gen 2 Experimental Extruder, this metal-polymer composite filament provides users with a cost-effective way to experiment with metal 3D printing applications without having to invest in a dedicated metal 3D printing solution. 3D printing stainless steel parts also reduces the time required to produce parts, further reducing operating costs compared to traditional methods.
