Logimat 2025: Electric monorail system
For payloads of up to 3,500 kilograms
SEH Engineering is celebrating the trade fair debut of the Skyrail Max heavy-duty electric monorail system (EMS) at LogiMAT. This expands the Skyrail series with a variant that is designed for higher payloads than the standard model.
The corresponding key figures for the Skyrail Max EHB are 1,000 kilograms (two-axle vehicle), 2,000 kilograms (four-axle vehicle) and 3,500 kilograms (eight-axle vehicle). The innovation therefore offers high payloads with a minimal overall height. Combined with all the advantages that already characterize the standard model, the Max version is suitable for many applications in the field of production and warehouse logistics. In Stuttgart, the East Frisian material handling specialist will be using a fully functional demonstration system with a chain conveyor as a pallet feeder to show how well the new system performs as a smart and fast pallet conveyor technology.
"The SkyRail Max EHB is perfect for automatically transporting and distributing pallets or roll containers. And whenever greater distances are involved and a high degree of flexibility is required," explains Carsten Schmidt, Managing Director of the Conveyor Systems division at SEH Engineering in Ostrhauderfehn. He cites two concise application examples in which the new Skyrail model will be used in the described function. The first is a large dairy where the Skyrail Max EMS links production and storage and reliably transports milk tetrapacks towards second packaging at a speed of 100 meters per minute. The second case involves the production of kitchens. Here, the Skyrail Max EHB transports all the components required for a kitchen gently and quietly - distributed across several vehicles if necessary - from the picking zone in the production warehouse to the assembly area. Both SEH customers also opted for the new solution because it has a modular design and is just as energy-efficient as the standard Skyrail model.
The main difference between the two Skyrail variants: The new Skyrail Max-EHB is based on larger and more stable rails and rollers from the outset. In order to be able to reliably move the maximum payload of 3,500 kilograms, the Max system also places higher demands on the statics of the steel structure and hall ceiling. The highlight: Skyrail vehicles of the standard version can also run on the new Max rail. If the load is increased at a later date, these can simply be exchanged for Max vehicles. In other words: SEH Engineering has the customer's investment security in mind in this case too.
