Six-axis robot in DC version

Despite the postponement of Automatica to December, Epson is already presenting its 2020 innovations in the field of robotics and industrial automation.

With its new VT6-A901S-DC, Epson presents a six-axis robot designed for operation with direct current. The robot has the same specifications as the AC version, such as a payload capacity of 3/6 kg and a reach of 900 mm. The VT6-A901S-DC is therefore particularly suitable for use in all environments where only a DC power supply is available.

One possible application was demonstrated at IREX 2020, in which this new robot, mounted on an autonomously moving base, performed logistics tasks, for example for packing shipments. The application covered an area measuring around 4 x 5 m, within which the machine approached any points and collected parts. This robot is now available.

Also new and available with immediate effect is a six-axis C-series robot with a 140 cm operating radius and 12 kg load capacity. Epson is thus expanding its range of vertically articulated robots and now also offers medium-sized systems.

Also new and immediately available is the "Epson Robot Management System" (Epson RMS) software package, which enables users to easily monitor all installed Epson robots (maximum 200 units) including associated options such as Epson feeders, conveyor tracking, vision and others. With this solution, users always have control and a precise overview of the status of their automation systems, so that systems work more reliably and faults can be rectified more quickly if necessary.
