Safety solutions for industrial robots

Schmersal will be showcasing various safety solutions for industrial robots at Automatica. These include various safety light curtains and light grids. They can be used to secure access to robot workstations in a space-saving manner.

Optoelectronic and tactile protective devices

A protective field of infrared beams is emitted and evaluated by the receiver. If this optoelectronic protective field is interrupted, a stop signal is triggered immediately and the machine is stopped. The entire working area, on the other hand, can be monitored by safety mats. They ensure protection against stepping behind, which means that the machine cannot be started as long as an operator is in the danger zone. ag
