Room portal for collaborative robots
For the first time, RK Rose + Krieger is presenting a room portal for collaborative robots.
The three-axis spatial gantry for a system for robot-based machining was developed in a project with the Fraunhofer Institute for Mechatronic Design Technology IEM. This extends the working range of cobots from linear to three-dimensional. Intelligent sensors and algorithms enable smooth communication between the robot and the spatial gantry. They ensure synchronized movements of the gantry and cobot. The system can be adapted to changing application scenarios. According to the company, time-consuming conversion and set-up work is not necessary. The rigidity of the gantry also results in high precision when using a tool.
