Conveying loads gently

Andrea Gillhuber,

Fixed glide elements as an alternative to ball transfer units

Loads of up to 4,000 kg/m² can be conveyed gently and practically friction-free on an air film on Orimair's fixed sliding elements. This is particularly advantageous for soft and sensitive surfaces, as the load is picked up over a large area and not at specific points.

Orimair 's fixed sliding elements can be used to gently convey loads with sensitive surfaces and a weight of up to 4 t/m² on an air film. The load is picked up over a large area and not at specific points. If a load moves over a table made of fixed sliding elements during overpressure operation, the elements directly under the load open and create an air film. The elements can be used to build conveyor or vacuum tables of any size using the mosaic method.

A side channel blower with an operating pressure of -400 to +400 mbar is sufficient for the supply of blast air. In the vacuum version, the fixed sliding elements enable flexible and seal-less vacuum clamping with pressures down to -400 mbar.

The elements work mechanically and oil-free, a higher-level control system is not required. The robust and rust-free design is resistant to dirt, oil and mechanical damage.
