It is the final stage in the product manufacturing process and brings together what belongs together: assembly. The latest trends in this area can be seen at Motek in Stuttgart from October 8 to 11. The international trade fair for production and assembly automation is organized by Schall. It shows that the trend towards more variance and greater dynamism in product development and production does not stop at assembly technology and organization. Motek and the accompanying Bondexpo trade fair show how assembly is responding to this variance.

Meeting the variance

The degree of automation in industry is continuously increasing, including in assembly. Motek showcases the broad spectrum from classic semi-automated assembly to fully automated, robot-supported production or assembly systems. As digitalization progresses, real production is moving ever closer to the virtual data world. Handling devices and robots, for example, are constantly having to come up with new capabilities. In addition to data analysis, machine learning should also be mentioned in this context. Another topic is communication: how do machines, robots, systems and control systems communicate with each other and ultimately with humans?

Exciting supporting program

The trade fair duo and its supporting program provide answers to these questions. Together with its partner Pilz, the trade fair is organizing the specialist forum "Safety + Automation", which is primarily dedicated to Safety Architecture 4.0, the Industrial Safety Regulation and CE processes.

The trade fair organizer P. E. Schall organizes the Exhibitor Forum. Here, exhibiting companies can report on the theory and practice of their solutions in alternating presentations.

The trade media SCOPE, handling and Computer&AUTOMATION will be accompanying Motek on October 9 and 10 with the "Modern Assembly" congress. The two-day event will highlight the challenges facing the industry and offer solutions on how modern assembly concepts can be individually and safely integrated into your own company.
Once again this year, there will be two special trade fair guides. The trade fair guide for assembly system construction and robot system integration lists all the relevant manufacturers and suppliers exhibiting at Motek and Bondexpo. For Motek, more than 160 competent industry partners have been identified and presented who deal with system solutions and turnkey systems. The second trade fair guide deals with joining technology. It lists the manufacturers and suppliers who offer components, assemblies, subsystems, complete solutions and materials for mechanical joining as part of the trade fair double. It also includes feeding, dosing and application equipment.

Handling award ceremony

In close cooperation with Schall, WEKA Business Medien is awarding a special kind of industry prize. The "handling-award" industry prize is being presented for the fifth time. The award stands out from the growing number of awards due to its clear focus and structure: a jury of experts consisting of Dr. Kurt Schmalz, Managing Partner of J. Schmalz GmbH, Michael Stark, Head of Series Development at SEW Eurodrive, Achim Gauß, Managing Director of the Zimmer Group, Edgar Grundler, Trade Press Officer at Schall, and Petra Born, Editor-in-Chief of the handling trade medium, evaluate the applications received and select the winning products in four categories in a jury session. The fifth award, the "Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award", will be presented to a personality from the industry. The award ceremony will take place on the second day of the trade fair, October 9, from 3:30 p.m. in the Atrium of Landesmesse Stuttgart at the East Entrance. Visitors are very welcome.
