Kawasaki presents new robots and control system

Kawasaki Robotics is presenting three new products in April. The BX200X and RS007 robots will be on show at the Hannover Messe. The Successor, a new manual remote control for industrial robots, will be presented for the first time in Europe at the upcoming Paint Expo in Karlsruhe. Visitors to the trade fair will also be able to test the system for themselves.

The BX200X offers the same performance and load capacity of 200 kg as the BX200L - but extends the effective reach of the robot from 2,597 mm to 3,412 mm.

For years, the Kawasaki B-series has successfully combined minimum dead weight with high performance and maximum reduction of vibrations. With the new BX200X model, the company is now responding to the increasing demands of the European market - including in the areas of spot welding and handling: The model offers the same performance and load capacity of 200 kg as the BX200L - but extends the effective reach of the robot from 2,597 mm to 3,412 mm.

A decisive advantage: The configuration of the BX200X is largely based on the BX200L and BX300L models - this means that the existing BX spare parts can also be used for the new model. Like the other robots in the B series, the new model also impresses with maximum performance over short distances, which is particularly important when automating spot welding processes. Kawasaki Robotics is also consistently pursuing the goal of building space-saving and flexible robots for the B series. The greatly reduced dimensions of the base enable maximum load capacity with minimum space requirements. The hollow-wrist design enables simple internal routing of hose packages, even in designs with a longer reach. This increases the durability of all components and effectively eliminates unwanted interfering contours for simulation and operation.

With the RS007N and RS007L, Kawasaki Robotics is presenting two 6-axis robots with a maximum payload of 7 kg. Both models are designed to meet the increasing demand for compact robots in the electronics and food industries. The robots are the latest additions to the universal R series for small to medium payloads (3-80 kg), which offers excellent functional and environmental characteristics for assembly, material handling, machine tending and other applications.

Both the RS007N and RS007L continue to offer the proven operational benefits of the R-Series robots - complemented by a redesigned arm structure and a reduction in the weight of the main unit. These improvements enable the fastest operating speeds in this class of robots as well as higher working ranges. The RS007N has a reach of 730 mm and the RS007L of 930 mm - for more flexibility in the design of production lines.

Thanks to the system's artificial intelligence (AI), it is able to learn manual movement sequences and reproduce them independently. This facilitates the use of robots in areas where this was previously difficult or limited - including the production of individual orders, the processing of deviating workpieces or other situations where human intuition and flexibility are required. The system is also able to learn movements entered by experienced specialists and pass them on to beginners via a special feedback system: Haptic, visual and acoustic impressions enable them to quickly learn the operation and movement sequences. am
