SRM swivel unit
Swivel with high torque
Schunk is presenting the SRM pneumatic high-performance swivel unit at Motek. It sets new standards in terms of power density, durability, commissioning and maintenance, the manufacturer promises.
The specialist for gripping systems and clamping technology refers to high torques and high mass moments of inertia with short swivel times, a large center bore, robust bearings and a slim interference contour.
As part of the development of the power-tight module, Schunk used the latest simulation technologies, with which reaction forces, pressure curves, impact velocities, kinetic energies and drive energies could be recorded for the first time. The swivel module is also suitable for use in environments with aggressive media; it has innovative dampers and special piston seals as well as a Viton/FKM seal.
A preloaded bearing with zero backlash in both the axial and radial directions enables particularly high torques and lateral forces to be absorbed. With the SRM, systems can be made smaller, cycle times can be shortened and both precision and service life can be increased. The swivel unit is initially available in sizes 14, 16, 25 and 40 for swivel angles of 0 /180 degrees and 0 /90 degrees. Torques of up to 24 Newton meters are possible in size 40. Further sizes and options are planned. as
