Small parts gripper for cost-sensitive applications
Schunk has expanded its portfolio of small parts grippers. The basic gripper MPC is suitable for simple applications in low-contamination environments and pays off in cost-sensitive applications and for short system runtimes.
There is often enormous pressure on margins in the production of small parts. Overengineering should therefore be consistently avoided in plant engineering, especially as many systems are only used for a limited period of time. In order to expand the scope for designers within the gripper portfolio, Schunk is therefore expanding its range of small parts grippers with an attractively priced basic gripper for simple applications.
The pneumatically controlled MPC guarantees good performance and an attractive range of sizes that covers a broad spectrum of applications in assembly automation and automation in plastics processing, promises Schunk. The quickly available basic gripper is available in six sizes with maximum gripping forces between 16 and 270 newtons and maximum jaw strokes between 2.5 and 15 millimetres.
Even the smallest size, with a net weight of just 50 grams, allows components weighing up to 80 grams to be handled. At the upper end of the size scale, part weights of up to 1.3 kilograms are possible. The repeat accuracy is 0.02 millimeters. Despite the entry-level price, the warranty is twelve months or seven million cycles.
The gripper is completed by the newly developed and also particularly attractively priced magnetic switch J02. For applications with higher demands on cycle times, precision and service life, Schunk continues to recommend the universal small parts gripper MPG-plus or the mechatronic EGP. as
