Promotion of young talent
Schunk pushes mechatronics training
Schunk has expanded its training program in the field of mechatronics. With a mechatronics laboratory set up for training purposes, the company wants to make its trainees and students fit for the smart factory.
Young people can develop their skills at 18 modern workstations. Instead of being lectured to in frontal lessons, the young people work on theoretical principles independently in the laboratory using practical exercises. "We want our junior staff to grasp the learning content in the truest sense of the word," emphasizes Managing Partner and CEO Henrik A. Schunk. "In this way, we want to familiarize the employees of tomorrow with the possibilities of Industry 4.0."
"MINT minded company"
In recent years, the technology forge has deliberately focused on the topics of mechatronics, electrical engineering and computer science as well as practical studies. The program now also includes cooperative study places at Heilbronn University in the fields of electrical engineering and industrial engineering. Schunk has been recognized as a "MINT minded company" for its outstanding promotion of young talent in the MINT fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology.
The activities have long since extended to traditional apprenticeships such as that of a cutting machine operator. Their profile is increasingly changing into that of a plant manager who operates and coordinates modern machines. A total of nine full-time trainers and 80 training officers prepare the approximately 200 trainees currently at Schunk for their careers. as
