Flow gripper

Safe handling of sensitive electronic components

Automated handling of sensitive electronic components must be fast and gentle. Vacuum specialist Schmalz has developed the SCG flow gripper for this task. It ensures that plastic parts and circuit boards are transported safely.

The flow gripper generates a high volume flow for safe and sensitive handling. The vacuum is built up in a very short time and therefore enables fast handling cycles. The SCG moves the components reliably even when the suction surface is only slightly occupied, for example when PCBs have openings or holes or are fitted with components. Users also benefit from low operating costs: the gripper delivers high performance with minimal air consumption. It has a suction capacity of up to 590 liters per minute and works at an operating pressure of between one and five bar.

Users can flexibly integrate the SCG into existing production systems. It is designed ready for connection, is particularly compact with dimensions of 55 x 70 millimetres and has integrated vacuum generation. This eliminates the need for additional tubing - installation is possible both laterally and axially. The suction cup of the flow gripper is made of Perbunan nitrile rubber: this material is antistatic and dissipates potential electrical charges that could damage sensitive electronic components. as
