The teat is made of FDA-compliant silicone and is therefore suitable for direct contact. Its sealing lip is soft and flexible, allowing the SFG to grip even sensitive foodstuffs securely with minimal surface pressure. In accordance with the high hygiene requirements, Schmalz designed the new flow gripper from food-safe material. The gripper consists of a base module with a compressed air connection. The vacuum with which the SFG sucks in the food is generated here. The exhaust air duct, the suction cup and an adapter for mounting on horizontal surfaces and optional robot flanges are connected to this. According to the company, the compact and lightweight design of the gripper enables highly dynamic processes when sorting onto conveyor belts and when transferring or inserting into the packaging. If the suction cup needs to be replaced, it can be removed quickly and without tools.
