Room awarded three times
Zimmer Group wins three German Design Awards 2020 for the design of its products.
Having won three more awards, the Zimmer Group now has 26 international accolades to its name. The presentation of the coveted German Design Awards trophies took place on February 7, 2020 at the Ambiente international consumer goods fair in Frankfurt am Main.
Three grippers were honored in the "Excellent Product Design Industry" category. The GEP5000 electric parallel gripper, the GED5000 centric gripper and the GEH6000IL IO-Link large stroke gripper each received a "Winner Award".
Design down to the last detail
The international jury of the German Design Awards 2020 explained its decision on its website as follows "The GEP5000 electric parallel gripper, together with the GED5000 centric gripper and GEH6000IL large lifting gripper, forms a family with high economic and ecological standards. The uniform, formally clear design language, reduced to the essentials, has been consistently and cleanly designed down to the last detail and conveys a high degree of precision and quality."
Established in 2012, the German Design Award is one of the most prestigious design competitions internationally and is organized by the German Design Council. The jury honors products and projects that are groundbreaking in the German and international design landscape. In total, it assessed over 5,000 submissions in 2020. The proportion of international submissions was around 55 percent.
The German Design Awards 2020 join a series of prestigious awards that the Zimmer Group has received to date. These include the German Innovation Award 2019, the Red Dot Award 2018-2019, the IF Award 2018-2019 and the handling Award 2019. dsc
