Gripping systems

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Change fingers at the touch of a button

Schunk is expanding its program for quick gripper finger changes. With the new BSWS-M manual system, the top jaw can be unlocked and removed from the gripper at the touch of a button.

A new jaw is fitted just as quickly and connected to the gripper at the touch of a button. The tool-free quick jaw change system reduces set-up times to a minimum and therefore increases the productivity and flexibility of the system.

The system is available in three variants: In the BSWS-BM variant, the change mechanism is integrated into a base that is permanently mounted on the base jaw of the gripper. The second variant, BSWS-URM, can be integrated into customer-specific top fingers. Here, the locking mechanism is supplied as a kit for installation in the gripper fingers. The BSWS-ABRM variant comprises finger blanks with an integrated interchangeable mechanism that can be individually adapted to the respective clamping contour.
