The gripper is specially designed for beginners working with cobots. As a starter package, the plug-and-work-capable module comes pre-assembled to the customer and contains everything required for assembly and commissioning: from an adapter plate, suitable finger sets and assembly tools to plug-ins for seamless implementation in the robot controller from Universal Robots or Techman Robot. Commissioning and programming of the EGH universal gripper is completed in just half an hour. With its flexible fingers and a variably adjustable stroke of 80 millimetres, it covers a particularly wide range of workpieces and is extremely versatile. The finger position can be individually defined for each gripping process via IO-Link and the gripper status can be evaluated. Parallel kinematics ensure a constant gripping force over the entire stroke. The smart gripper also scores highly in terms of ergonomics and design: Its rounded outer contour, equipped with soft-touch elements, makes it easy to grip and comfortable to handle. The EGH is particularly suitable for use in cells with a safety fence or for applications in which the workspaces of humans and robots do not directly overlap (coexistence). Typical areas of application are handling and pick-and-place tasks in clean and slightly dirty environments, for example in the automotive and electrical industries as well as in machining operations. An integrated LED light strip signals the current status of the gripper to the human operator, enabling smooth interaction with the cobot.
