Schmalz at the Motek
Components for cobots and co.
At Motek, Schmalz will be presenting gripper innovations and further developments for manual lifting tasks, and the vacuum expert will also be showcasing intelligent devices for networked production with its Smart Field Devices.
Schmalz is exhibiting solutions for production and assembly automation in Stuttgart. One important topic is human-machine collaboration. Mobile robots are particularly suitable for light handling tasks. However, they also place new demands on the components, which must be light, flexible and safe.
Schmalz develops corresponding ready-to-connect grippers that are used as end-of-arm tooling on gantries and robots. The latest example is the FXCB area gripper - an efficient solution for numerous applications in intralogistics, such as end-of-line packaging or pick & place applications. With flexible foam as a gripping surface, it can securely hold cardboard packaging or boxes weighing up to eight kilograms. Thanks to its large contact surface and low impact forces, it complies with ISO TS 15066 - a standard for cooperation between humans and collaborative industrial robots. Equipped with the latest communication technology, the gripper can also be easily integrated into automation environments.
The FXP/FMP area gripper will also be on show in Stuttgart. It is particularly suitable for automated palletizing and depalletizing as well as sorting and picking different goods and workpieces.
Smart helpers
The prerequisite for safe gripping and holding is an appropriate vacuum. With the electric vacuum generator ECBPi, Schmalz has a compressed air-independent solution that can be used in mobile robotics as well as in fully automated small parts handling and stationary handling tasks. The so-called Cobotpump is part of the special range of Smart Field Devices - intelligent components that can be networked with the production environment. They record, monitor and analyze energy and performance-relevant data in the vacuum system via IO-Link and NFC. Other products include the VSi vacuum and pressure switch and the SCTMi compact terminal. Like all NFC-enabled smart field devices from Schmalz, they can be read and parameterized via an app.
Schmalz will also be presenting standard components for all common vacuum automation applications. These include various elements for setting up your own vacuum systems as well as suction pads, connection elements, components for system monitoring, filters, connections and vacuum generators.
Construction kit for flat booms
There are also innovations for manual handling. Schmalz has developed a modular flat jib made of aluminum especially for applications in low spaces. Based on the modular system for jib cranes, this is an ergonomic solution for applications in the lower load range. The modularity is reflected in the product design and structure: instead of a complete assembly, the stand-alone solution is put together using individual components. The crane is the perfect complement to vacuum lifters such as the Jumboflex tube lifter. It also has its place on the exhibition stand and demonstrates how lighter goods weighing up to 50 kilograms can be moved ergonomically and at high cycle rates. as
