Kullen-Koti at the AMB

Brush systems for sealing, wiping, pressing on

At the AMB, Kullen-Koti will be exhibiting brush plates for transporting sensitive metal sheets, sealing brushes for noise insulation of machines and disk brushes for surface technology tasks.

Depending on the configuration and application, the sealing and strip brushes have profiles made of steel, aluminum or plastic, which can then be fitted with horsehair, plastic bristles, plant fibers or wire as required. They are available as standard as rigid or flexible strips as well as in curved or ring form. Kullen-Koti's portfolio also includes the implementation of customer-oriented special shapes.

Due to the mechanical flexibility of their various filaments, the sealing and strip brushes can adapt to the nature of the contact surface. They are therefore ideal for cleaning threads, structured surfaces and moving components. Kullen-Koti also offers these brushes in heat-resistant versions so that they can withstand production environments with high temperatures. In classic mechanical and plant engineering, these brush types are used to seal housings, press on components, wipe off chips or seal shafts.

Flexibility in its purest form
As a special form of its sealing brushes, Kullen-Koti will be showing a number of exhibits from the Quick Seal series at the AMB. These are flexible plastic brush strips that are supplied as 25-meter spirals in flat corrugated cardboard boxes. The user pulls the strip out of a slot in the box and can cut it to the exact length required for their application. As the Quick Seal brush strips are no more than three millimeters thick, they are easy to cut with tool scissors or side cutters. All Quick Seal brushes are resistant to ozone, UV and chemicals. They are suitable for operating temperatures from minus 40 to plus 125 degrees Celsius.

On the plate and as a plate
Kullen-Koti offers its brush plates for applications in metal or surface processing where large and sensitive metal sheets, semi-finished products or tailored blanks need to be held, supported or conveyed. They are supplied as ready-to-install components - for example to manufacturers of punching and cutting machines for their support tables. As standard, they have load-bearing capacities of 500, 1,250 and 2,000 kilograms per square meter and maximum sizes of 2,500 by 1,200 millimetres. The exact shape usually depends on the customer's specific requirements.

At the AMB, Kullen-Koti will be demonstrating that its brush plates can be fitted with plastic fibers (heat-resistant up to 210 degrees Celsius) or brass wire. The choice of the right materials and the variable density of the brush fillings ensure safe, low-noise transportation of the workpieces on the plates. The brush plates from Kullen-Koti are a solution for long conveying distances in particular.

The disc brushes, which are used in metalworking for deburring and grinding, among other things, are also a manufacturing highlight, according to the company. These brush systems can also be optimally designed for their various areas of application using the fill material, filament thickness and fill density. If, for example, a highly abrasive effect is required for roughening or deburring, the disc brushes can be equipped with polyamide bristles interspersed with various abrasives (silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, diamond). For grinding and smoothing, however, the disk brushes are fitted with softer fill materials. as
