3D printing service for additively manufactured components

Upload data, select material and quantity, send order - similar to an online photo service, designers and system planners can order gripping system and clamping technology components for additive manufacturing from the Schunk 3D print service.

Whether adapter plates, devices, protective covers or function-integrated components: all parts are made from polyamide (PA 2201), aluminum (AlSi10Mg) or stainless steel (1.4404). Following the success of Egrip, a 3D design tool for additively manufactured gripper fingers from Schunk, the family-owned company is further expanding its portfolio in the field of additively manufactured components with the 3D print service. It is now also possible to order self-designed components for gripping systems and clamping technology online.

Integrated printability test

The browser-based 3D print service gives users direct access to the world of 3D printing without having to invest in the corresponding equipment or expertise themselves. All common CAD formats can be uploaded quickly, displayed in the 3D viewer and checked fully automatically for printability. Areas that are critical for additive manufacturing due to material thickness, for example, are automatically marked. This allows components to be specifically optimized for production and the data to be updated.

Depending on the material selected, the system displays the delivery date and the price of the component. This is determined based on volume, i.e. small parts are cheaper than large ones. Until the order is placed, the data can be replaced by new uploads or the material selection can be changed at any time. All projects can be saved so that they can be adapted or repeated at a later date.

An integrated approval and comment function also makes it possible to forward projects to colleagues or purchasers for approval or ordering, for example. The intuitive, HTML-based and browser-independent 3D print service can be used on all internet-enabled PCs, smartphones, tablet computers and other end devices. It is suitable for maximum dimensions of 160 x 120 x 100 millimeters. Specially trained 3D printing experts from Schunk can be consulted if questions arise. The delivery time is around ten working days, depending on the order situation. as
