The Spanish courier service Nacex, part of the Logista Group, has commissioned Beumer to supply a sorting system for its new distribution center in Corredor del Henares near Madrid. The 11,400 square meter logistics center will include 104 loading ramps for delivery vans and light vehicles as well as ten ramps for semi-trailers. Beumer is supplying two LS-4000CB series crossbelt sorters with infeed units, belt weighers, chutes and a conveyor system. This will enable Nacex to handle 24,000 unit loads per hour, consisting of parcels and mail in equal parts.

The Madrid site will be one of the first logistics centers to be awarded LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification by the Green Building Council in the USA. This will be achieved by meeting the highest quality standards in terms of conceptual design and choice of materials. The new distribution center is scheduled to go into operation at the end of 2018. as
