Jonas Zimmer moves up to the management board
The technology company Zimmer Group has a new man at the helm of Zimmer Kunststofftechnik: Jonas Zimmer has been responsible for the division's business since August of this year.
Zimmer Kunststofftechnik produces series parts made of metal, elastomers and plastic on a component basis and offers material, process and tool development for complete systems. Around 100 employees in the Plastics Division (Process Technology Division) currently work at the company's site in Rheinau-Freistett. The company uses a special manufacturing technology, metal injection molding (MIM process), for the series production of plastic parts. This allows very complex components to be produced with cost savings of 25 to 65 percent compared to conventional production methods.
As Günther Zimmer's eldest son, Jonas Zimmer already got a taste of the company as a young boy. Before the industrial engineer was appointed to the management board in 2019, he had already worked in the company for over ten years, most recently as an assistant to the Zimmer Group's management in the Process Technology division.
Company succession set up for the future
The Zimmer Group, which was founded by the two brothers Günther and Martin Zimmer almost 40 years ago, attaches great importance to future-proof company succession as an owner-managed family business. A large proportion of the founders' offspring are already employed by the company. Seven of the ten children of the shareholders are now of working age and are already employed in various areas of the Zimmer Group. The aim is to transfer the family business step by step to the next generation in a joint process over the coming years. as
