New development center
Ebm-papst builds for 41 million euros
Ebm-papst is continuing its growth course and is planning to build a new development center in Mulfingen, where the company headquarters are located. The technology leader in fans and motors will invest around 41 million euros in the new building.
The aim of the development center, which is due to open in the summer, is to double the amount of space required in recent years. New offices will be created for around 500 research and development employees on an area of 11,000 square meters and new laboratories on 7,500 square meters. The aim is to create an environment for the various departments and divisions that will enable more modern and efficient collaboration.
Stefan Brandl, CEO of the Ebm-papst Group, explains: "With the construction of our new development center, we are once again investing a large sum in the Mulfingen site and thus in the region. With modern laboratory facilities and new forms of workplace design, we want to position the company for the future and thus continue to drive forward the expansion of our innovation leadership." The Fraunhofer Institute IAO is involved in the planning of the new building and its equipment, as the design of the research and workspaces should meet new methods and standards. In the detailed planning, care is also being taken to ensure that communication and creativity zones are provided in addition to the necessary functionality. The building, which is being realized in line with the company's GreenTech guidelines, is scheduled for completion in early 2020. as
