Solid shaft gearbox with 28,000 Nm nominal torque

Precise, robust and reliable gearbox solutions are required for positioning heavy loads. Nabtesco has developed the RV-2800N especially for handling particularly heavy loads. With a nominal torque of 28,000 Nm, the solid shaft gearbox is the largest precision gearbox in the world, according to the manufacturer.

The RV-N series solid shaft gearboxes are compact, lightweight and powerful at the same time. This makes them particularly suitable for applications where high torque outputs are required but only limited space is available. With the RV-2800N, Nabtesco has added a new size to the series. The gearbox supports nominal torques of 28,000 Nm as well as acceleration and braking torques of 70,000 Nm.

It is characterized by a high shock load capacity (up to 5 times the nominal torque), extreme rigidity and high torque performance, enabling it to position the heaviest loads with high precision. The installation kits can even move entire vehicles with ease. The gearbox owes its compact design to the main bearing with integrated inner ring. The reinforcement of the eccentric shaft bearing results in a high power density.

Thanks to its cycloidal design, the precision gearbox is very powerful, robust and reliable. With a very low backlash of <2 arcmin, it works extremely accurately and guarantees low wear and a long service life. The gearbox is used where large loads need to be positioned with pinpoint accuracy. Areas of application include robotics, automotive engineering, the glass industry, mining and cranes. Here, the robots also benefit from the good load conditions due to the reduced weight and mass inertia.
