Metal planetary gearbox
One hundred percent increase
Faulhaber is expanding its R metal planetary gearbox series beyond the existing 20/1R models to include the new 26/1R and 32/3R series gearboxes. These products with diameters of 26 and 32 millimetres are further developments of the previous gearbox models 26/1 and 32/3.
By retaining the previous geometry, mechanical compatibility with its predecessors is ensured. As a result, the output power available for pulse cycle operation has been more than doubled compared to the previous generation. This has resulted in an increase in performance due to in-depth design analysis, extensive testing and careful validation. In continuous operation, the 26/1R and 32/R models achieve a better input speed of up to 9,000 and 8,000 rpm respectively, which corresponds to a one hundred percent increase. In intermittent operation, the input speed can reach up to 10,000 and 9,000 revolutions per minute respectively, so that the performance of DC or brushless motors can be optimally utilized.
Faulhaber has also improved the maximum output torque - it is now four or eight Newton meters in continuous operation. The gearboxes are available in one- to five-stage versions, and the range of 13 possible reduction ratios extends from 3.7:1 to 1,526:1. Thanks to the preloaded ball bearing, the output shaft has no axial play. They can be operated in the typical temperature range of minus ten to plus 125 degrees Celsius, but are also optionally available for lower temperature ranges, such as minus 45 to plus 100 degrees Celsius. The 26/1R and 32/3R gearboxes can be combined with various motors of different technologies, for example DC motors, brushless motors and stepper motors with diameters of 23 to 35 millimetres. pb
