Switch makes network status transparent

Gigabit Ethernet is becoming increasingly important in mechanical engineering. The scalable infrastructure enables a step-by-step approach in which the backbone is first implemented on Gigabit. Indu-Sol offers the Promesh P24+ diagnostic switch, a 24-port Gigabit Ethernet switch for Profinet and EtherNet/IP with four uplink ports up to 10 Gbit/s, for this purpose.

Large amounts of data can thus be reliably forwarded without the switch becoming a bottleneck. In addition, the Promesh P24+ continuously monitors line quality, leakage current and environmental factors such as vibration, light or humidity. Port statistics and information on the network topology and neighbourhood can also be visualized. User-defined triggers can also be defined to generate corresponding alarms. This means that the status of a network is transparent at all times and preventive intervention is possible.
