Open House at Zimmer

Set for further growth

On July 4 and 5, 2024, Zimmer Systems, a subsidiary of the Zimmer Group, opened its doors to around 130 guests from various industries. The company presented its products and customized automation solutions at the grand opening of the new plant in Rheinau.

The event began in the morning with guided tours of the new hall followed by specialist presentations. The guests were given exclusive insights into the modern new building, which expands Zimmer's capacities by 5,000 square meters. The strategically favorable location of the new plant enables optimal logistical connections and efficient production processes.

During the event, the experts at Zimmer Systems presented developments from the five technology areas. Particular emphasis was placed on standard system products, industry-specific end-of-arm solutions, mobile robotics with AMRs and the Zimo mobile robot cell, as well as flexible and efficient manufacturing and assembly processes. Special sorting systems, robot-based drilling machines and processing solutions were presented for the furniture industry.

Growth and global expansion

With the new building in Rheinau, the company wants to meet the increasing demands worldwide, explained the managing directors. Zimmer has been in business for more than 40 years and employs a good 1,300 people at 17 locations worldwide. The company is continuing to expand consistently. Following the recent expansions in China and India, this is already the third new building this year.
