Hannover Messe: Femworx 2025

The Femworx career congress brought women in industry to the big stage at Hannover Messe 2025 on Thursday and Friday. With 100 speakers, over 70 program items and 1,700 participants, the focus was on strengthening and networking women in industry - with topics such as careers, new work, leadership and entrepreneurship.

Speakers on stage included Nicole Büttner, founder and managing director of Merantix Momentum, Irene Bader, board member of DMG Mori, and Zarah Bruhn, founder of Social Bee.

The Engineer Woman Award 2025

For the third time, Deutsche Messe has announced two prestigious awards for women in STEM professions as part of the Femworx career congress. This year's winner of the prestigious Engineer Woman Award is Marie-Josée Turgeon. She is an experienced manager with almost 30 years of professional experience in the fields of manufacturing, microelectronics and process optimization. With a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and an MBA, she has been instrumental in driving innovation in microelectronics as President and CEO of C2MI. Under her leadership, C2MI has received numerous awards, including the Great Mention of the 2021 Performance Quebec Awards and the 2022 Gold Award. Turgeon has successfully implemented lean manufacturing and process optimization, resulting in significant improvements in productivity. She is involved in various governance roles, including as Chair of the Research Ethics Committee at Cégep de Granby and as a member of the Canadian Semiconductor Council.

The Engineer Woman Award is presented annually to a female expert who stands out for her innovative strength, commitment or achievements in the technical field. Dr. Kathrin Rüschenschmidt, Director Innovation Process & Project Management Office at Emerson and member of the Femworx Advisory Board, presented the award in person. An independent jury from the Femworx Congress Advisory Board had selected Turgeon for her outstanding achievements in the fields of manufacturing, microelectronics and process optimization. "Marie-Josée Turgeon is an outstanding example of how technical expertise, strategic thinking and leadership can drive innovation across an entire industry. With her commitment to process optimization and her role in the microelectronics industry, she inspires women worldwide," says Johanna Rudolph, Project Director Femworx.

Young Engineer Woman Award

The Young Engineer Woman Award was presented on Friday. The award recognizes women under the age of 30 who are doing outstanding work in their field of expertise or who are particularly committed beyond their area of work. Myriam Erath was honored with the Young Engineer Woman Award for her outstanding contributions to digital transformation in the industry.
